The Mapping of Rotary Levant Bucharest

Bucharest, 2nd of June 

Friday, at Crowne Plaza Hotel, took place the first official meeting of Rotary Bucharest Levant Club and at the same time the award ceremony of the Official Chart of Rotary International.  



The public, official representatives of District 2241 and Rotary Club members from the entire country, listened the opening speech of the Rotary Bucharest Levant President, Mihai Alexandru Voicu. Afterwards brief speeches were addressed by Dan Cretescu, Rotary Atheneum Bucharest President- the Godfather Club - Ivan Eric Bolch, Governor of District 2241, Adrian Nicolaescu, the elected Governor of the District, Dana Moldovan, representative of the Rotary Newbury Park Club from California. A special presence among other participants  was Mr. Ovidiu Cos, elected Governor for 2007-2008 and Mr. Dan Seceleanu, President of Rotary  D. 2241 Foundation. 



The badge award performed by Mr. Ivan Eric Bloch offered the opportunity of mentioning each of the Levant Bucharest Club members, new in the Rotary family. This was followed by the official award of the Chart, the Necklace, and the Bell, conducted by Mr Dan Cretescu.The official ceremony has been concluded with an artistic moment performed by the children from Mia’s Children. Also for their benefit a ceremony for collecting funds was organized in the evening. There were exhibited for sale various paintings of the children from Mia’s Children, white and black pictures, on high format, donated by Camil Tulcan- a Master of Arts at Ioan Andreescu Academy in Cluj- and also pieces of work in glass, hand-painted, created by Raluca Polea, student in the second year at Academy of Fine Arts in Bucharest.  



The evening was closed with a cocktail where the participants had the opportunity to know each other better and had pleasant moments in the spirit of principles that has brought them together. With this opportunity, Rotary presidents and members from whole the country offered a toast for the new club. 



Rotary Bucharest Levant would like to express many thanks to all participants at this event, with the hope that this club would the first from a series of Clubs in Romania that will tighten the relationships between all Rotary Clubs.
